Needless to say, 2012 has been a great year for gamers.  The last several months in particular have played host to some major title releases; franchises have cemented their importance, and new powerhouse series have been introduced.  Sure, there have been some disappointments too, you can’t win them all.   Some games (many of which have been hyped for years now) and were supposed to hit store shelves didn’t come as quickly as expected.  However, this only gives us something to look forward to in 2013, doesn’t it?  Rest assured; there are some pretty incredible games headed your way in 2013.…

OK, full disclosure…this game is somewhat similar to the ever-popular “super smash brothers”, however, one shouldn’t get the wrong idea, it is in fact a fairly original title.  While “PlayStation All-stars Battle Royale” does incorporate some cute characters, it’s largely a game aimed at fighting.  So, instead of a roster full of cute, colorful characters, you’ll get to play as PS luminaries like Kratos, Nathan Drake, Sack Boy, and a Big Daddy (from Bioshock).  In total there are 20 characters you can use, with more being added pending upcoming DLC releases. In today’s age of ultra-realistic games with enormous open worlds and near-infinite customizability, turn-based strategy titles might seem to be somewhat out-of-place.
