Tekken is a game franchise that was at one time, the best thing running in its genre. This of course also made it “the game to beat” if you were constructing a fighting game, meaning; it spawned a lot of competitors. This is not to say that Tekken went away, or became less important / successful, only that it wasn’t the new kid on the block anymore, so to speak. Well all that changes with the release of Tekken Hybrid, it is back on the scene and ready to vengefully kick some ass.
So what’s so special about Tekken Hybrid, you ask? Well, first off, Tekken Hybrid is actually an enormous combo package of Tekken-themed goodness. Hybrid is essentially a blu-ray movie and an HD remake all in one glorious package.
Tekken Blood Vengeance 3D is a full length feature film starring many of our most beloved Tekken characters, with the added benefit of being 3D compatible. But that’s just the icing on the cake, the real draw of the Tekken Hybrid package is the all new HD remake of the Playstation 2 classic, Tekken Tag Tournament. This is an exciting development for a number of reasons, not the least of which is the fact that fans of the series have been screaming to a remake of that iconic title for years (Tekken Tag Tournament). Along with these two amazing items, additional content will also be included, which hasn’t been officially disclosed as of yet.
If you’re a Tekken fan, this is the game that you have been waiting for. Not only is it going to feature what is arguably the greatest game in the series, but it will also incorporate an amazing 3D movie experience as well. This is truly a new concept in video game packaging; let’s hope more developers follow the model being established here.
