Available just in time for the holidays, Oddworld Inhabitants releases several games for PlayStation consoles. Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath HD for Vita, out in North America on Tuesday 18 December and Europe on Wednesday 19 December, priced at $14.99/€11.99/£9.99. Oddworld: Munch’s Oddysee HD for PlayStation 3 is available 19 December in Europe with North American release TBC, costing $9.99/€8.99/£7.99.
Stranger’s Wrath follows the story of Stranger, a fearsome bounty hunter that captures outlaws to raise “moolah” for a mysterious surgical procedure. After encountering the backwater town of the Grubbs, Stranger discovers that there are a few too many secrets about the past and his future as a bounty hunter.
The VITA version is specifically updated to make use of the hardware. The game features rear touch pad and touchscreen interaction along with all the HD improvements from the PC and PS3 version.
In Munch’s Oddysee, players guide legendary Oddworld hero Abe, and his aquatic Gabbit partner Munch, using special psychic powers, cool power-ups, and other special abilities to deliver payback as they reclaim the last Gabbit eggs on Oddworld, which have been packaged in a can of Gabbiar. The game features unlockable concept art, new audio and art assets along with an improved control system designed for the PS3.Stewart Gilray, CEO of Just Add Water (Developments) Ltd (JAW) says: “Continuing our campaign to update the classic Oddworld titles, we are excited to give new and old fans on Playstation the chance to play Munch and Stranger”.
